Life gets in the way of my G.A.S.

I did it again - returned to the scene of the crime and bought another Ovation... this time an '81 or so Anniversary 1157.

Round hole, no electronics, herringbone trim and multilayer wood on the headstock and heel cap. Much lighter than my L717 - which has electronics, but also has a different, heavier truss rod according to some O experts...

This one needs some work on the frets, but otherwise is structurally sound and does have a different tone than the L717 - the Anniversary is a little more "open" sounding - I like the tonal uniqueness of both guitars.

Because I complained to the (e-bay) seller than the condition of the guitar wasn't as represented in his ad and photos, he gave me a nice discount; 1/3 of the original sale price.

So I'm a happy camper and now I can justify putting some more $$ into some fretwork to bring this thing up to snuff (although it is playable as is, you have to watch out for sharp fret ends and frets with no crown whatsoever on them!).

Cool Mikey,

That's a few new guitars for you recently.

I'm still waiting for my Larrivee, its been about 14 weeks,

I've let a few guitars slip past that I could've brought,

Even considered a Martin 00015M.

They say patience is a virtue, but a least I can live vicariously through other peoples GAS

Yeah...I have several that I need to sell; a couple acoustics and a couple electrics, plus one amp... I just haven't had time to get stuff up for sale.

Looking forward to hearing how you like your Larrivee - any idea how much longer?

Sweet guitar, Mikey! I recently played a Schecter left handed 12 string round back. It was my first experience with that type of back. I was surprised how comfortable it felt!
