Hello Everyone,
My father-in-law found this at his local trash dump. The headstock has no logo and the nut is broken hence no E string. What makes me wonder if it is at least in part a fender is the neckplate with the F logo. I can't find a serial number anywhere on it. Any information about it's provenance is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. I hope everyone can see the photos from the Dropbox link

Hi & welcome to the FDP.

That is a US built Fender Bullet with a Telecaster style body from the early '80s. They were produced from 'about '81-'83 then many changes and production went offshore.

I own a Strat style bullet from '81. These guitars have very unique steel pickguards (scratchplates) that also form the bridge anchor. Somebody may have thought the "Bullet" name was a negative and removed the headstock decal on your guitar. More likely the neck is a replacement. Still a cool piece for free!

Shots of my Bullet below.

Mine has a nicely flamed neck. Doesn't show all that well in the photo. These guitars play well and sound really nice. They use the USA Tele neck of the day.

Hammond, your Bullet looks very similar to one that I owned back in the late 80's. It's been a long time but do recall that it was a Tele style headstock and Strat shape but without the contours. I thought mine had 3 pickups, but maybe not.

They did have a 3 PU version. I think they called it the Bullet S3. It looked like a Strat Junior.

I like my Bullet but like all but a few of my guitars it doesn't get played enough. I bought it about a year ago for $400. Not a huge deal but decent none the less.
