I picked up one of these at one of our local music stores that deals in used instruments. <br /> <br /> They wanted $117 for it. <br /> <br /> I figured if it had a good neck I could gut the electronics and build it up.<br /> <br /> No need to ! <br /> <br /> Even though its got the cheap small pots and 5 way switch, the pickups are alnico's, and sound awfully good, go figure !<br /> <br /> The single coils are clear and well defined and the humbucker's got some really nice punch along with clarity. <br /> <br /> The neck profile is a shallow C, and feels great.<br /> <br /> Tuners are tight and hold extremely well. <br /> <br /> The shop did a steller setup on this guitar, so the only thing I did was slightly level two frets and then do a fret dress and polish. <br /> <br /> I *like* the large headstock painted to match the body, and the mirror pickguard looks pretty slick. <br /> <br /> It reminds me of John Sykes Les Paul, as far as the black and mirror motif.<br /> <br /> A very nice score, I still cant believe something this inexpensive feels, plays and sounds this good !

Nice score! That's certainly a unique look.<br /> <br /> I'd be real tempted to replace the silver screws and knobs with black ones.
