My UX2 is crappy with Windows 8 and Sonar Artist. Can't get the mic pre to work. I also need a midi interface to work the VST instruments. I was going to order the Tascam 4 x 4, but then I realized that the GT-001 will also trigger VST instruments via it's own midi thing.

We'll see.

E

Hope you'll like it, E. I've yet to dig in to mine deeper than just plug and play with audio cables. I have also downloaded a bunch of other patches from Boss Tone Central. I intended to use it as the actual audio interface in my most recent recording, but I started that project in Pro Tools as a 24/48 recording and the GT-001 doesn't do 48 sample rate.

I'll eventually dig in deeper.

Going to try. Worse comes to worse, I do have a Godin w/midi and a Yamaha G50 I could try.

When I first got my GT-001 I was futzing around with it while having a project opened in Pro Tools. That project had an instrument track (drums) and I realized my guitar playing was triggering the drum voices through MIDI. I have to revisit that. It would be nice using a guitar to trigger some monophonic voicings instead of a keyboard.

Tracking is more than passable on single note stuff, past that it gets iffy (but it doesn't claim to do poly but it doesn't always choke either).

Used it just to see if it worked then went back to my GR-55 for that.

To get the most out of the thing, dissect a couple of the factory patches (ducking delay is one) to learn how to set the assigns to make anything duck on demand, up to the 8 or 10 assigns per patch allowed.
