Too Much GAS

After moving to the Nashville area from Phoenix back in March I finally found a couple of guys to write with. I'm into some obscure progressive music so there's not a lot to choose from anywhere. Especially here.

About 3 weeks ago I spent three and a half hours on Craigslist going through the, Musicians in the Nashville area, ads looking for anyone into writing and/or performing progressive music. I found 3 after looking at over 500. One of them was these 2 guys, one of them had a top age limit of 30, and one of them was a studio guy looking for session players. I contacted all 3 of them and got a reply to the 2 ads that didn't have an age limit.

I met with the bass player of the "2 guys" last night at Starbucks. We sat and talked prog for about 2 hours. We really hit it off. We are supposed to get together next Sunday and play just to see how it goes.

The "studio" guy sent me an email this last week and also wants to send me some material and have me do what I do to it just to see how it goes. If he likes it I'll get some session work out of it. Just for the sake of insurance, I'm going to send him my recordings in a very crappy format so he can't use them on a master. He'll be able to hear what I did but won't be able to use it unless I send him the hi-res files. I gotta watch out for jerks. If he's legit he will understand that.

Even low res, if it is good, it can be stolen.

I'd want a face to face meeting and jam before giving out any tapes. Especially if it is an original that you are adding to.
