I have had my eye on this cymbal set for a long time.

They sell for over $350.00 new, but I ran across this used set at a much better deal.

Cymbals are the only thing left to get together for my drum kit.

Just made an offer on eBay for a Zildjian A 23" *sweet ride* for the kit.

Hopefully it works, it will be a very good deal if the offer is accepted.

Edited to add results ... Offer accepted :)

Nice! I have a set of 14" new beats I really like. They are identical to the pair I owned when I was in high school in the early 70s. Great hats.

I have come to enjoy the Paiste dark crisp hats a bit more however and usually play out with the Paiste's.

Do you still own the 18" Zil crash you bought from me? I miss that cymbal. I hope you still enjoy it.

"Do you still own the 18" Zil crash you bought from me?"

I am afraid I might not have it. I was getting my drums stuff down from storage and it was not seeming to be there.

I later remembered my Son (drummer) had a friend playing a gig or recording or something and wanted to use one of my Son's snare drums and as the drum was going out the door he asked if he could "borrow" that cymbal. It left and apparently never came back.

The snare never made it back either. My Son is now out of State so the chances are pretty slim.

So ... sadly I think it is likely gone So much for "Oh, I'll be sure it makes it back" :(

The 23" *sweet ride* just arrived it looks very nice and at 23' looks very big!

A 23" ride is huge. I get along best with an old school 20" size. Currently playing all Paiste Signatures w/20" dry ride. Just the right amount of wash for me and a well defined "ping".

To bad about the gear but that happens with kids. I'm looking forward to your promised "open house jam" when your house project is finished. Great stage you have put together.
The plan is to have the 23" with a 19/20" and a 15/16".

Three cymbals, all Zildjian A series.

Just two more to go. :)

I just purchased two Slingerland badges exactly in the number range on my kit.

As per the other thread, the kit is all built from bits and pieces of 70s era slingerland five ply shells, but I have been finding badges numbered all in a close range, just to add complication to the build. :)

These two are very close numerically and in prefect condition (seller says they are NOS) coming from Poland.

Hammond101, I may need to invite you up for a couple of days to help me fine tune the setup on this kit and get it up to speed.

We could throw in some added attractions to make it fun as well. :)

That sir would be an honor. I would enjoy the visit.

I'm using the Paiste dark crisp hats as I mentioned. The other Paiste signatures I gig with are:

12 splash
14 fast crash
16 fast crash
18 full crash
18 thin china
20 dry ride

I got a call about an hour ago to fill in on drums for a friend who is under the weather. I think I'm going to take out the Pear kit tonight and leave the vintage Rogers at home. I haven't played the Pearls in a few months now.

I certainly need help getting the kit ready and playable, plus I'd love the chance to meet you as well.
