C-C-R is one letter

better than B-B-Q. Tastier too!

Agreed! Smaller body that the Strat, hangs perfectly on a strap, comfortable to play, sounds great...

What's not to like?

When did I get cool? When I got older.

I also agree.

Although it would be easier for Fender to redo the Lead II with the Strat pickups.

I would most certainly buy a new Lead II.

Lead II, though it would not be difficult at all to recreate the I/III humbuckers. The II is a unique guitar in that it (in my opinion) is one of the best-playing Fenders ever made, and the distance between the two single-coils creates a unique 'quack' tone that cannot be replicated with either Strat or Tele models. Phenomenal Fender 'bolt-on' sustain, too. I have been very happy with mine (also have a I and a III).

Look out for Hondo Lead I and II. They were made by Tokai in Japan.

Lead I, I'm telling you!
