I bought a used Fernandes LE-2 MIJ. From what I've read & heard, which obviously could be partially or totally incorrect, it's the same as a MIJ Fender Strat without the Fender headstock & Fender stamped hardware.

This info came from a forum dedicated to MIJ gear, and from an older gentleman in his late 70s who runs a guitar store. He is usually very critical of 'off-brand' guitars, but said that "The LE-2 is probably the only strat you'll ever need." Coming from him, that's high praise.

I have about $360.00 into the LE-2, which is the nice tri-burst finish (I forget the official Fernandes name for it). $214.00 for the guitar (pawnshop didn't know what they had, gave me a 25% discount with little haggling), $65.00 set-up (I decided to let a pro handle it), and about $60.00 for a cool "Howling at the moon" PG & black knobs, PUP covers, etc. to match it (the original white wouldn't have looked good with the new PG).

As always, your input is greatly appreciated. And I apologize if this question has been previously asked & answered here at the FDP.

EDIT--I apologize. I just realized that I didn't post ths where I meant to, in the non-Fender gear forum.

Nevermind, I can now see that my edit did indeed "take."
