I just copped an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro from MF. It was listed as a restock, and was priced $100 less than a new one. The condition was listed as "very good", meaning light scratches comparable to a floor model. I cannot find a mark on it. The only indication it's not new is the lack of a warranty card. It has coil splitting pickups, which I don't know if I will use much, but are cool none the less. The finish is cherry burst, and looks gorgeous.

Congrats! Sounds like a good deal.

I'm STILL waiting for the local shop to get the Epi Casino I ordered over a month ago... argh!!! They DID tell me 30-60 days, but thought it would be less time than more.

Meanwhile, the guitar has been in stock this whole time at MF... I could've had one a long time ago (and played it out a few times by now). But I'm trying to support my local store, and they gave me a great price (significantly lower than what MF is). I was in the store again yesterday to harass them about it, and so he sent another e-mail to the rep to see if he could learn anything. MEanwhile, I took a right-handed on in the amp room and played it upside down for awhile - sounds great - P-90 pickups seem very balanced and not muddy for an MIC guitar.

But the wait ... enjoy yours!

I've had my eye on the Casino, and contemplated getting it instead of the Les Paul. The price difference ($400 vs. $629) was the deciding factor, although I can see myself in the driver seat of a Casino soon!

As Tom Petty said, "The waiting is the hardest part." Hope your Casino arrives soon, and hats off to you for supporting your local store!

LeftRightOut,

I understand: our oldest daughter lives in Japan - a 14 hour time difference from the central US. So we plan our Skype times accordingly...

Reviving this forum again. I am loving my Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro. It cuts thru the band mix well, especially when incorporating both pickups. I haven't experimented much with the coil splitting feature because I am primarily a humbucker guy.
Now if I could just quit drooling over the Casino! LOL!

Casino ... yeah, I'm STILL waiting for mine. It's been over 60 days since I ordered it, and I was told 30-60 days. I suppose for lefties you should double or triple that estimate, since they don't do very many runs (of around 12 at a time).

Sadly, I see it listed as "in stock" at MF whenever I check there, but I'm not sure I want one that's been sitting in their unconditioned warehouse all summer...

...stopped in the store yesterday and got to talk to the owner - he said he had some other business to do with the Epiphone rep, so he would nag him about my guitar as well.

Trying to wait patiently!

The waiting is the hardest part.....Tom Petty

I guess you have to look at it as the wait will increase the pleasure and satisfaction when it does finally arrived. I hope that helps! :(
