...so I'm getting back a great guitar that I traded about a year ago (maybe? can't remember...).

It's an SG Standard, which I traded to another FDP'er (who doesn't hang here much these days). He's having some hand problems, so he's selling it back to me at a very good price - it's one of those "I can't pass it up" deals. Especially since I know the guitar.

When I bought it (it's a 2009 in the red finish), it had EMG's in it, and someone had GLUED ONTO THE BODY one volume and one tone knob - they only had the top two knobs working... ugh! But after converting it back to passive pickups, it sounded nice (I put in a set of Larrivee vintage gain humbuckers; they actually sound very good).

Looking forward to this one 'coming home'.

Beautiful guitar, but like you, I can't believe someone in their right mind would do that to an instrument!

Previous owner was a female/woman/girl/lady/gal/etc. ... but even that doesn't explain what was done. If I remember, they chose to delete the bottom two controls/pots to make room for the battery inside the control route (not making another route, thankfully).

Anyway, I originally got a good deal (in trade) on it partly because of the whack-job pickup install. Makes me wonder what kind of trade-in she got on it (don't remember what she traded for - that happened at their Lincoln, NE store).

Fortunately, with the control knobs back on (and functioning properly, thank you!) you can't see where the finish pulled off with the glued on V & T controls.
