Met a solo performer in a wine bar in Vero and got talking music. He's a good acoustic guitar player and an excellent singer. Gary does classic rock songs that lend themselves to acoustic guitar.

We got together to jam with me on electric and it blended well. Using my GR55 synth, I can get a whole variety of sounds to compliment whatever songs we do.

So now I'm half of the duo called Lee Roads. We'll be playing Nov 16 & 12/6 7-10 and at Vinz in Vero Beach. Wish us luck!

Thanks, fscott of Saskatchewan! I asked a guy here in Vero if he knew of a good Chinese restaurant. He said to try the "Saskatchewan Palace". I'd seen the restaurant he mentioned, only they called it the "Szechuan Palace."

we will meet up sometime this winter with you. It didn't take you very long to find a music outlet for yourself. 8^)

We'll definitely get together for some music and golf! I met this guy from an ad I put up on CL. Seems to be working out pretty well, I just have a lot of songs to learn. He's pretty heavy into Neil Young and I never learned much of that. But it's good to teach the old dog some new tricks.

We saw a comedian down here, a big guy with a deep drawl. Said he felt at home in Vero Beach when he saw the sign for Yeehaw Junction.

We did our first gigs and it's been working pretty well, get to do mostly fills and some solos, and use some of the patches on the GR 55, like piano and orchestra. It's fun and I'm making some money too.

Quack, the only time I'm missing NJ is spring & fall - Clamfest!

Peterw11, this area has some really good restaurants. We've found good Chinese, Thai, Indian, Mexican, Italian. What more can you ask for?

Well, this was a short-lived venture. The singer decided that he preferred to do his solo thing. He sent me an email saying that he listened to a recording of the last gig and didn't like the blend. Apparently, he wanted me to just do solos and fills, and nothing else. Of course, he could have made that clear verbally or via email and we could have solved whatever issues there were.

Maybe it's just a rationalization, but I think he came to realize that he was making half the money he made as a single act.

Oh, well, on to the next thing - whatever that may be.
