Pretty good fakes if they are fakes. I'm just suspicious because he's sold so many of the same spec. And I don't know of a CS strat that has those specs that is in wide production.

He must be honorable...his necks have a **trust** rod in them!

Seriously though, anybody see anything fishy, other than his spelling?

They look good, and to my eye look genuine...but I'm no expert, and it would need someone like Mike Eldred to know for sure. If they are fake, they are well done.

If they are genuine, my thoughts would be..."Where is he getting them all from?"

Geographically, he's based not that far away from Fender, but that may be sheer coincidence, and have no bearing on anything!

They're fake. Good fakes, but they look like Warmouth necks.

ME

Thanks for chiming in, Mike. I messaged the guy and he told me they came off of 61 Fender CS Strats.

But I don't know of any 61 CS run that featured a compound radius neck. Every neck he's sold is a compound radius neck.

I thought maybe the Custom Shop logo was off, because if I'm not mistaken, it should read "when you're ready" under the logo these days. Then again, he could be claiming these guitars are from before the Fender CS started using that slogan.

Do these necks have clay dots like a CS neck? Hard to make it out..

Good luck getting an answer. He's probably shopping the Allparts website right about now.

The sad part is that Warmouth and Allparts are not bad necks in and of themselves, in fact they are good necks. It's just the mislabeling that is disturbing and of course deceptive.

Is anyone reporting him to eBay?

I remember a while ago I kept reporting a listing that was counterfeit fender and there was no result.

Considering Mike Eldred's comment, seems Fender should be reporting him at least.

When some people try to defend this kind of thing, the most common answer is: Buyer beware, etc. And also comments like " Well, it can't do that much harm, it's just one or two necks, or bodies or guitars..."
BUT,this stuff is going on all over the place, in the U.S.A. in the U.K. Europe..
If you could add it all up, then it would start to look like a recognisable, and in my opinion anyway, harmful activity.
It degrades the true brand.
It risks de-valueing the real products.
It eventually affects the livelyhoods of the real products employees.
So I feel the sooner someone starts going after the infringements, the better.

Stack-Knob. (feel better for that little rant):O)

I think, and I may be alone in this, but this douche needs a good Italian shower. By that I mean as far as we know they are like a $3 bill, as fake as they are flawed. I can make a better neck with warmouth. Just because he can go on ebay and claim Custom SHopppe does not make it so. A little Mahogony Shampoo might reeducate him on the ways of madness.

I am just saying.

RUF
I spoke to one of the unfortunate buyers and he said his payment went to a Rebecca Beck. Someone has made a tidy profit on this lot...must have sold over 50 now.

Looks like I have one of these flame necks off Ebay.

I have messaged several Ebay members to let them know Mike Eldred states they are fake necks.

When I received it, I noticed it an odd greenish tinge to the lacquer and it had the string tree hole 6mm out of line from where it should be.

The frets were the worst re-fret I've ever seen. I had to have it re-fretted and have the fretboard levelled. It had a 'hump'...The decal also looked fake when I finally saw it.

Mine has a 9.5 radius, definitely not compound. The listing said compound radius but it's not. None I saw looked compound, they all looked to be 9.5, even though the listings all said compound.

Mine looks to be very much like a Cunetto era flame and even has a red CS ink stamp and the usual 'Relic' stamped under the heel. It looks real and sounds great now after a lot of work.

I have 6 Custom Shop Strats and even the 90's date looks correct. Really good fake I must say.

The member had 2 usernames, mauiblue71 and fix-n-2sale. I have reported him to Ebay and Paypal and asked for a full refund.

The payment went to "Rebecca Beck" as above post.

Fender should be dragging him into Court. They should be protecting the Custom Shop name. Hopefully, Fender are also kicking the walls of Ebay down to stamp this out for good..
