DeAndre Brackensick!

Not sure where this kid came from, but from watching the top 24, I don't think anyone can touch him for this season.

I wasn't going to watch it, but my wife had it on and when I heard this from another room it drew me into the show.

To me, Joshua (?), the guy from Louisiana, is head and shoulders above the rest. Aaron (?) is next best IMO.

Joshua is Sam Cooke come back to life.

6

I didn't watch the whole show on either night, but there's definitely some good singers.

I never watch the elimination shows.

+1 Joshua. It gets more interesting from here on, but the weak criticisms from the judges are just awful.

I was thinking today how entertaining it would be if Mick Jagger was there instead of Steven Tyler. That might be a nice changeup!

The drama is too cheesy. Glad that I dvr'd it, but
had to scroll ALL of the way through to see DeAndre
get that final seat.

Not sure if the voting is on singing alone and perhaps if he didn't have long hair, he might have got the seat earlier.

I guess the drama get the ratings up higher?

The show just keeps gettng worse and worse. The "judges" ain't judging anything --all they do is gush. I will not be watching any more. The Voice is so much better.

Cannot believe that they took DeAndre for the final seat over Aaron. Gross mistake there!

Glad to see Erika made it. If talent has anything to do with it, I'd see Joshua and Erika finishing 1/2.

6

"DeAndre Brackensick"

Really??!! Sorry, wife and I both don't understand why the judges gush over this guy (well they gush over everyone). He's weak in our opinions.

There are a couple of talents this year (can't remember who) but overall a pretty weak line up, at least as it appears now.

O.K., since the last post on this, there have been four AI shows, by my reckoning....I think, as of last night, they are down to the final 9, and one will go home tonight.

Before last night, I wanted to see Heejun gone. But man, he really did a nice job with Leon's "A Song For You" (even though someone, behind the scenes, wrongly attributed it as a "Donny Hathaway" song). So I'm torn now...I could live with either DeAndre or Skyler hitting the road.

And while we're on the topic, let's pay homage to the original...

I remember when an AI thread would have 500-600 posts by now. I quit watching it a couple years ago. I'm honestly surprised it still has any kind of audience.

"I'm honestly surprised it still has any kind of audience."

According to reports, audience has diminished significantly, to the point that it's not even No 1 in it's time slot any more.

We've been kinda watching the kid from Wakefield, MA on that other show, The Voice.

I think DeAndre has a good voice, just not crazy about his song choices. Josh was good too as well as Jessica, IMO.

I think Elise's version of Zep's 'Whole Lotta love' was enough to get her booted off next?

"I think Elise's version of Zep's 'Whole Lotta love' was enough to get her booted off next?"

I wasn't overly impressed with that version but Elise is the only one I'd pay to see in concert -she has great tone!

Actually, I thought Elise did a fine job with "Whole Lotta Love".

But I still feel Josh is so much better than the rest it's ridiculous.

Of course, that's probably the kiss of death because, as history has shown, the best rarely win AI.

Overall I thought everyone put on a fine show last night!

6

The Dave Mathews clone guy sounds . . . just like Dave Mathews. How original! (;oD

I only watch portions of the show here and there lately. My wife still watches.

My wife is still watching, but even she says the show has gotten incredibly lame. And she was a die-hard fan for several seasons.

I've only seen bits and pieces this year and nobody I've caught has impressed me much.

And I agree - the "judges" are awful! Constant praise regardless of the performance or the talent level.

DeAndre goes tonight - actually he'll be voted off but the lame judges will rescue him.

That's my prediction!

The judges just love DeAndre and Dave Mathews clone. That Jimmy guy is much more honest.

The judges just don't have it in 'em to be critical anymore...even Randy. I could count on one hand, and have fingers left over, the number of times Steven Tyler has been critical of anyone.
