A dedicated cd (only) player.

Managed to snare a unit of this hard-to-get player.

Connected to my HK 3490 (2-channel - 120 watt per channel) receiver using digital coax with no problem whatsoever.

#1 impression of the unit is silence. Silent operation. No background noise. Blessed quiet.

Quality of reproduction is excellent. Piano sounds like piano. Horns like horns. Voices totally nuanced.

Before making this purchase, I considered cd players in all price ranges. Made this selection after digesting on-line reviews and advice from the fdp audio crew.

It was totally the right choice for me.

This unit replaces a 12-or-so year old Kenwood 5-disk changer. It is a wonderful upgrade and is bringing me back to my cd collection big time.

So far, Ive been listening to vocal jazz (Ella, Etta, Dinah, Sarah, Nancy, Peggy, Norah); Elton Johns #1s; western swing. Moving next to classics and soul.

The unit brings out the sensuality of great music. Highly highly recommended.

|

Got one for my daughters birthday present, it has excellent reviews. I sure hope she likes it. |
