Appears Guild is ramping up the heat on any competition in the USA market. Lower priced versions of their iconic D40, D50, F30R and F30, the F50 and the venerable F212XL. Starting well south of the 2000$ mark - I'm told they're still extremely high quality but with minor feature / spec changes - more soon....

Are these imports (like the GAD series) or USA-made instruments?

So far the only major changes I've heard are that the D40 and 50 have solid Sitka tops with red spruce bracing rather than red spruce tops ( aka Adirondack spruce ) Closed back Gotoh tuners, satin nitro laquer finished necks on the back of the neck, gloss nitro laquer bodies and then minor cosmetic changes. All solid woods - Street pricing - D40 1799 D50 1999

There's an F30, F30R a F212XL 12 St and a F50 Maple body jumbo

Can't wait to try them. I hear they sound and look great.

I think it might still be the Ovation/Hamer factory...

...P.S. just read in Vintage Guitar that Charlie Kaman, inventor of the Ovation Guitar, passed away Jan. 31. RIP.

(Sorry to go a little off topic.)
