Bought a used Epi Masterbilt Century DeLuxe archtop. Has a pretty awful undersaddle piezo thing, with a jack and separate battery compartment on the back. Waddaya recommend for a control harness? Probably take it to The Amp Shop here in WPB for the wire-up.

I don’t have experience with this but I know that transducers are all the same other than the diameter they are available in. I hear and see a lot of high end acoustics using the Fishman circuits. Maybe contact someone about them.

I would mount dime-size vol and tone pots to the broad end of the finger rest, and place the output jack at the end pin like on some electrificated acoustic guitars. Unless you prefer to drill holes in the guitar's top.

Hiya Mike! I Have an acoustic with a nice Anthem system in it.. I’m aiming for more of a jump blues thing with this one.

I wish I lived closer, I'd do the work for you.

These don't come with a harness because the wiring has to be sized to the specific guitar.

I'll send you a circuit if you want. You would need to solder the pickup to the volume pot as well as the output lead to the output jack in the guitar. You'd also need to drill the finger rest to accommodate the pots.

I like this one. I have it on my archtop. Easy to install and doesn't get in the way.

That is a simple and elegant solution. The cost isn't too ridiculous either.

It does rule out Roy Buchanan-style pinky violining tho :0o

Small Bear Electronics is a great source for parts and components- very good pricing and reasonable shipping costs, etc. They have this small size pots that Peegoo mentioned.

Thanks for all the idears.

Don’t be ridiculous Leftee.

But I AM going to put a tasteful Dean-style V cut in the headstock. With a steak knife.

Why use a steak knife when you can use a dirty coffee spoon from the Waffle House out on exit 12?

That's what I would do. My Gibson J45 has a little volume wheel like that just inside the sound hole.

Are you going to do away with the piezo? If not, you could install a switch (hidden inside the sound hole) that allows you to select either the piezo or the mag pickup, and send it to the output jack.
