Another Martin; this time it's a 12-string - a J12-16GT.

To translate that's a Jumbo 12-string, 16 Series, Gloss Top. Oh yeah, it's also a lefty.

Will be here Monday. I suspect my Takamine 12 will be for sale Tuesday...

A Martin 12 to go with my D-35 is a bucket list item for me. Love your J12!

Yeah - I can't imagine spending a couple grand for a Standard Series Martin 12-string, but this one is such a good price, and a lot of the 16 Series guitars are an excellent value, so this one was realistic and doable.

I have an OM16GT (pre micarta) and it is a quality instrument. I play it more than my 00028ec.

Maybe I just like mahogany better.

Enjoy your new 12.

The guitar arrived and I'm very happy with it - great instrument, and it's in perfect shape. It even still had plastic on the pickguard!

According to serial number it was built in 2008. Doesn't seem like it's been played much - a few very light scuffs near the soundhole (which I don't even notice unless I stop and look for them).

Has a warm tone compared to the Takamine 12 I have (which is going up for sale soon). The Tak is more jangly "Rickenbacker" style with very little low end.

Action is perfect (on the Tak I had to file down some nut slots, and it works well with my G7 12-string capo (notched for the octave strings on EADG). Pickup sounds very good.

I'm finding lots of reasons to pick this thing up and play it, which I didn't think I would (since I wasn't playing the Tak much).

I'm a happy camper. Thank you again, Martin!
