About as ordinary as you can get.

I am in the process of building a pine Tele. Not finished yet. I weighed all of the components and I have a total weight of 5 lbs. It's about half the weight of my B-bender Tele. I'll post a picture when I get it finished.

Anyone else own a super light weight Tele or other guitar?

Sounds like a great project! HWY 1 body with mexican standard neck, which i just like best for feel, regardless of money, vintage noiseless pups for their versatility, callaham bridge, under 6.5 lbs. Best tele i've had. Love lightweight resonant instruments. Good luck!

My recent hard tail strat build is a mahogany body and it finished up at 2.7kg, just a smidge under 6 lbs.

It's the lightest guitar I've ever made or owned. Most of my guitars weigh in at between 3.2 - 3.7kg (7-8 lbs)
Plays and sounds great, but it's still a shock to my right arm when I go to lift it out of the case or stand.

Feels like I'm going to bounce it off the ceiling!
Of course, you'd think a he-man like myself would be use to that...

I am a huge fan of lightweight guitars.

My lightest one (~5 pounds) is

a 1960 Guild M65.

I did a pine-body Les Paul-o-Tele, recently, with a roasted maple neck. It came in under 7 lbs. fully built.

My ‘57 Tele weighs almost nothing at around six pounds. It’s like wearing wings compared to my Les Paul which is relatively light for for an LP.

Same here. 6 lbs mahogany Esquire GT and Thinline Tele vs. 9.6 lbs Les Paul Std. Loving the lightweights and more so when jamming through the wee hours.
