No matter what level you're at as a soloist, here are some really great things to think about and incorporate into your soloing. These can really spice things up and get you out of the rut of playing one cliche after another.

These things are mostly common knowledge, but when you get into a solo, you're trying hard to stay within the chord changes and it's easy to forget these really basic guidelines.

Write each one down and practice it for about 10 minutes. That's all you need to get it from your ear and into your fingers. This really woke me up.
