Not for nothin', and to be honest, I don't see the issue with colloquialisms. Afterall, I ain't whistling Dixie when I say every cloud has a silver lining and every picture tells a story. As a matter of fact, and with all due respect, cliches are a dime a dozen and are merely a form of speech. At the end of the day, it's just words. That said, I avoid cliches like the plague; not because they grind my gears, but because I wouldn't be caught dead rehashing old tales. I'm not even joking. Know what I mean?

I think I've been in a couple meetings with LeftyMeister, but I don't remember what name he was using at the time.

"Over to you."

I try not to do too big of an eye roll when I hear that stuff in mixed company.

"Moving forward."

I don't know why but that phrase always puts my guard up. It seems to be spoken most often by salespeople and politicians. Neither of which I trust as far as I could kick. Makes me want to slap anyone who says it because I feel like they are trying to take advantage of me and I won't have it.

I think that moving forward we need to square the circle to avoid shots on goal. This will almost certainly decrease the probability of a watershed event, am I right?

If, in a team-building manner and on an ad hoc basis, you could all get in closer touch with my inner feelings and try to be a bit more caringly, impactfully inclusive, it might help you to better understand what I'm going through, struggling, as I am daily, to deal with the many hurtful threats to my very well-being and personhood.

I like catch phrases and cliches because they offer a regular smorgasbord of things to hate on, and I loves gettin' my hate on.

Oh no! I love “wheelhouse.” I’ll be more woke going forward. Wouldnt want to make the FDP an unsafe space for anyone. ;)

Let's put that one to bed.

Could you be more condescending?

Just do it for the team.

Really ?

“We need to do a deep dive and get more granular.” I have coworkers that actually say this type of crap with a straight face. Most of them are in their late 20’s or early 30’s and don’t have a clue so the use this lingo to sound important.

I told one of my coworkers that is the same age as me to punch me in the arm if I ever use the term “reach out” unless I’m talking about saving someone from falling off a cliff.
