The first time I voted ever, the first time he ran, I voted for him.

Right or wrong, to this 18 year old at the time, he made sense!

YMMV

My wife worked for EDS under his leadership. Some rigid and stodgy business practices but undeniably successful until GM/HP got a hold of them.

"He's the reason why H.W. didn't get a second term, and we were stuck with Bill and Monica."

Actually I voted for Perot twice and got Bill Both times :(

I thought way back then that we needed a business mind running the show and that's why he got my votes.

Sad to see him now gone, but he did have a very prolific life. I am thankful for what he offered.

Unlike the vast majority of candidates for president, he was fiercely independent. He needed nobody's money and he could not be bought.

That scared the bejeebuz out of everyone within the system on both sides of the fence, because that would change the rules of the game if he were elected. Sound familiar?

One of the primary reasons why I liked the guy.

He was 1000% correct on that giant sucking sound. It eviscerated many US industries.

He was about thirty years too early.

I liked him but I didn't vote for him because we all knew he couldn't win and we also knew where all those Independent votes were coming from.

I don't recall screaming at the sky when the wrong guy (IMO) got elected.

It's never as easy as it's sold to be. 3rd party candidates were determinative in 1992, 2000, and 2016. Caveat emptor.

Perot actually said he liked it when Dana Carvey parodied him. He wanted Carvey

"Carvey says 'he called me up once because he wanted me to be with him in Texas on election night!'

The actor then reprised his Perot impression on the phone during this interview: '“He said to me, "I got an idea: You go out and do me, and I'll do me. Then there's two of me!"’ he said, complete with Perot's laugh. 'He had a very good sense of humor about it.'"

Had he not entered the arena his con job and treasonous act against the American people with their assumption he was legitimate and would go the course sucked up their interest and loyalty and we the people got screwed. He had no intent of running for president , nor did he want to be president. He is a flim flam man with a sinister bent.

There is no excusing this criminal. He screwed America and gave us another con man and his con family and his con foundation and a wife who tried to rob the White House.

That is Perot's legacy.

There is no defense or apology for Perot.

To add, his choice for Veep was an obvious tip off.. what a moron, a zero .
