I'd like a drum throne myself. I dunno. Lately I've honestly been practicing in the recliner with ghost adventures running on the TV.

Tama ErgoRider drum stool with back rest. 15 years old and still like new. Indestructible.

It's not a "throne," it's a stool.

This throne thing is the reason why drummers think they're in charge.

Stop it!

:o)

Here's a stool sample.

I have both an Ampeg bar stool and a small couch in my guitar room. I alternate between them, probably more on the bar stool, though.

No. It's therefore the drummer to sit on.

I play and practice in several different areas in the house.

The important piece of ergonomics that often falls by the wayside is the foot stool.

I've made 10 or so different foot-rests out of pine and have them in various guitar locations around the house, often with another piece of scrap 2x6 or something to elevate the left foot if needed, as I play with the guitar cradled on the left knee.

I also love playing standing up but overall accuracy does slightly suffer with intricate picking and fingerstyle playing compared with sitting down.

Again, for me it's all about the elevation of the feet related to the seat.

Sitting in a basic chair with feet flat on the floor is NOT a comfortable or ergonomic playing position IMO, I am much more comfortable standing or just sitting on the guitar case if a low chair or foot stool is not available.

If you have one of those cloth straps with the sliding buckle that allows instant adjustment to any length, use it for your practice strap.

Set the strap length so when sitting, the guitar is up off your leg. You can move the guitar to any angle. No need for a foot rest.

Cotton straps (see link) work best because the cheepo woven poly webbing straps are quite slippy on the shoulder.

Like a Boss.

But then what would I do with all the footstools? ;)

Must be a classical thing. Having the third pressure point of the knee to stabilize the guitar helps my accuracy sitting down. With a strap the left hand must stabilize the picking/plucking force of the right hand in addition to fretting.

There is a padded chair at the rehearsal studio, I have a cheap Walmart Mainstays Folding Metal Bar Stool for gigs, It’s cheap and folds really flat. The cross bar doesn’t put my knee were I want it for acoustic guitar but it’s perfect for bass.

I have a comfortable sturdy armless leather chair. I do have a barstool but I can only take it for a short time.

Metal chair. No arms. You should never attempt to play guitar or bass (banjo, mandolin, etc.) in an armchair.

Usually an office type chair in my computer room. Turn one way and you get the computer, turn the other way and you are facing a Fender amp with multiple guitars to choose from.

If not this chair then anything will do.
