I think I'll buy it and put new pups in it as well as a new bridge, new tuners and maybe I'll paint it.

You have to consider that there was somewhere around 1,700 Les Pauls with a sunburst finish made between 1958 and 1960 (600-something in '59).

Some of these 1,700 have been lost to fires, floods, and nephews who never took guitar lessons seriously.

These are in extremely limited quantity and the value will just keep going up.

I see the "Pay with Paypal" button is enabled...
I wonder how they'd ship -- or are you expected to make the trip to come get it in person, hopefully in your private jet?

Maybe it's his and he's got it there on consignment.

The guy's name is Rod or Rob. He put letter stickers on the top and the last left almost no shadow. The R left a red shadow where the burst didn't fade, and the O is somewhere in the middle.

If you are having trouble getting a loan approved... They now has a '59 LP Special at a friendlier price. Where are these '59s coming from all of a sudden?

Seems they could probably afford to throw in that LP Special as a bonus if you buy the '59.

There are 58 and 59 juniors and Specials all over fleabay; most are Japanese sellers because in the 80s and 90s Japanese buyers were snapping them up as speculative investments.

Turns out they were not as lucrative as smart stock buys--even though the guitars did increase in value.
