Adding to the time-worn classics of "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy," "There's a bathroom on the right," and "Hold me closer, Tony Danza," here's one from the tune Found Out About You, by The Gin Blossoms:

"Whiskers at the bus stop..."

rfrakes331, I think it's pretty clear he says "thank" there through the talk box. But I remember many people assumed he was saying the eff word because, well, it's rock and roll!

Sorry, could have sworn I typed the punchline... My older brother would always sing

I thought I was cool coming up with "There's a bathroom on the right" until I actually heard Fogerty sing those exact words himself.

When I was a pre-schooler in church I thought the hymn "Tell It To Jesus" was about Jesus in the temple at age 12. I thought we were singing "Tell Little Jesus."

Off topic, but a commercial for a barbecue grille asked if your barbecue tastes like gas. I had to listen to that a second time to see just what they were saying.

I'm sure some of you hear the word "giraffe" interspersed through indeterminable song lyrics...

I know I'm starting to think I see it in lots of threads here...

Sightly OT.... I'm only a few seconds into the first verse, but does that song not sound suspiciously like "Don't Fear the Reaper?"

Or am I just mishearing more than lyrics?

In the '60s, my AM radios made it sound like Simon & Garfunkel were singing "Partly Dave, Rosemary and Thyme" in "Scarborough Fair." I think the Columbia Records engineers were trying to remove the sibilance from the recording.

Partly Dave was a character in John Lennon's first book, In His Own Write.

HenryJ, we had a song in Sunday school that I thought was about Jesus having a pet: Jesus' Cross-eyed Bear.

Took me years to figure that one out.
