My great granddad lived to 103. He smoked his entire adult life too...up until the day he died. We warned him about smoking :o)

I cannot imagine what it must be like to live that long and be witness to technology development that was science fiction during one's childhood. Amazing.

A century is a pretty good ride if you don't suffer dementia. I had an uncle who made 104 and my maternal grandmother made it to nearly 102 but suffered dementia in her later years. I don't want to live to an old age if dementia rears its ugly head. Otherwise, I'd like to give it a shot.

Just watched The Caine Mutiny again the other night and have War and Remembrance in our library.

I just loaned my copies of Winds of War and War and Remembrance to a friend.

Two of my favorite books.
