This Keurig user is wondering who here uses a Nespresso machine and if so, how is the coffee quality?

My oldest son has one. It’s ok. I wasn’t offended by the output. I probably won’t get one but then I’m funny when it comes to my coffee.

Having little interest in either nor having tried either, I would say it's all about the coffee pod quality, good water, and proper heating. I suspect for people who use such contraptions, they'd be interchangeable for the most part. At least where coffee is concerned (doesn't the Keurig brew other things like hot chocolate and tea?).

Apparently, Nespresso is oriented more towards those who want an Italian style coffee (espresso type).

I have owned one for some years...
They have a 100% failure rate of leaking from compromised internal seals after about two years.. just out of warranty.
Nespresso offers an exchange program.. you send yours, they send you another.Last time I checked the price was about $110 plus shipping.

It is fiddly to use. The pods are very expensive and it takes two pods to make a small cup of coffee that still is not espresso strength or flavor.

Another piece of yuppie junk.. looks good and doesn't work. and grossly overpriced.

That makes sense.

Got one as a gift, use it occasionally. Mama got a bunch of different pods for Mothers Day. Honestly, I run it twice per pod, add a bunch of cream. Yeah, I'm unsophisticated.

Eeew. I don't know about sophisticated or not but you sure as heck aren't a *coffee* man.

Doesn't sound like cappuccino either unless you're frothing milk. I drank coffee all sorts of ways when I was younger and I do like a good cappuccino now and then but, like tea, if you get the good stuff and make it properly, straight up is the way to go IMO.

So, no enthusiasm here for Nespresso, at all. I now suspect that Clooney fellow was perhaps, PAID for his endorsement?

Pour-over through fresh-ground in a #2 filter in a Melitta cone: inexpensive, no circuitry, no seals, no moving parts, very little can go wrong. One cup at a time so it's always fresh. Make it as strong or as weak as you like.

I have one and I think it does what it is supposed to. I have never found a Keurig I could drink the coffee from, but I'm OK with my Nespresso Lattissima for when I'm feeling lazy to make proper coffee (which means most of the time).

The built-in frother does a decent job, but I must admit it pains me that it calls its output a latte or a capuccino when in reality it's a macchiato, given the milk is poured before the coffee.

But I digress...

I would try one out. There are both in my office, which is why I've had the chance to compare them quite a bit. I always go for the Nespresso, some people always go for the Keurig.

By the way, in contrast to jefe's experience, I've had mine since 2011 and never had an issue with it.
