I searched Reverb for a Timmy overdrive and a couple of copies of the pedal also appeared. One of these is made in China and marketed under the Caline brand. Watched a couple of YouTube videos on the device, and I can’t really tell how well it clones the Timmy’s tone... but it sounds good, and the danged thing costs, like, one sixth the price of a Timmy ($36).

Any of y’all got anything to say about Caline pedals?

Hey ND.
That's the Caline Pure Sky that is the Timmy clone.
I have one and it is a great sounding low gain overdrive.

I can't say how close it is to the original as I've never played one, but there are a couple differences in the circuit.
The Timmy (IIRC) has a revere taper pot for the tone controls (they're bass & treble cut turning CW) and there is no toggle switch on the Pure Sky.

That said, the PS is a great sounding pedal for very cheap money.

Works great as clean boost as well as a low to medium gain OD.

I also have the Caline Orange Burst which is allegedly a Exotic BB preamp clone - also a great budget OD.

There are def a few others here that have these Caline pedals too, so I'm sure they add to the thread.

Well, thanks for responding, Mick Reid - without having plugged into one to see what it can do, it seems like it does what I’m looking for - “a great sounding low gain overdrive.” And at $36, if it doesn’t last for the long haul, it’d still be a good value

I have 2 Caline pedals. An Orange Burst and a tuner/power. The Orange Burst is a clone of the Xotic BB, and it sounds really good. My only quibble is that it does have a little noise. No problem for low volumes, becomes more noticeable as the amp volume goes up. Not terrible, but it is there. Seems solidly built.

The tuner/power is a great space saver on a small board. I thought when I first got it that it felt a little cheaply built, but I've had it well over a year and not a single problem.
