I know I'm weird. I'm lefthanded. One leg is longer than the other. I have mild word dyslexia. I like peanut butter and cantaloupe. I like Styx. My name is Rocky.

How's that for starters?

Perhaps you need to be in your own club then.

You need other models to truly appreciate a Telecaster. And you need a few Telecasters to appreciate the one or two that are really special.

That's all I got.

If I had to pick one guitar it'd be a Strat. That said my first real guitar was a blonde/maple early 70's Tele. In reality 2 Strats could satisfy me; vintagey and maple, rosewood with SSH. Teles on the other hand I could love a stable. Vintage, Thinline, S-H, H-S, H-H, P90s, Filtrons, Bigsby, etc. Currently I have 2, one with pure vintage appointments and a whacked out thinline that breaks all the rules. I love Teles.

IMO, a Nashville-style Tele can do everything a Strat can do and then some.

My Nashville is my favorite Fender-type guitar.

Oddly enough, I don’t own a Fender these days. But I have Teles and Strats.

Nashville is the only MIM to have a 1 11/16ths nut width... all the rest have the 1 5/8ths.

I think the Nashvilles are excellent guitars.

I play my 2014 MIM Baja Tele more than any of the others by far.

Not sure why i still own the others, except for my acoustic. I'll always play that.

Thanks, Dave!

I played the Mex Tele at church this morning and noted it has more of an acoustic and open quality than the copper. Of course, the copper has hotter pickups by design, so that'll affect the tone.

When I bought the Mex used in '06, I gutted it and installed Lollar Vintage T's. This guitar just has 'it' where tone is concerned.

I currently own six electric guitars. Three of which are expensive USA-made fine guitars. My FSR MIM tele, a BSB with ash body and reversed control plate is what I recently took to a jam with my Mustang III amp. It covers all the bases sonically, I'm not guilty tossing it in a cheap gig bag, it's light weight and easy on my back. And it seems indestructible.

I've always loved the blonde Tele look.

years ago when I was active in doing studio work I found that I needed basically only two guitars....an ES-335 and a Telecaster...you could cover virtually any electric guitar part required with those two... with very few exceptions.

I had several Teles:
a 89 American Standard
a 2000 US Highway
a noble copy from Duesenberg with a pretty spalted swamp ash body
some Korean copies I forgot (Chery, Johnson or whatsoever)
still a walnut Frankenstein partcaster with SD P90ies.
now a cheap China fake.
With exception of the China cheapo no Tele really caught on. Most of them I sold after few months of use. They always sounded too honky (quong quong quong) for me.
The walnut Franky I kept, because I pumped too much money in it, so I would never get the money back.
But the China fake sounds outstanding. It's the Tele twang I want, though I would still prefer Strats and modified Jags over it.

I still own lots of guitars but when I leave for a gig, I always take by Tele with a B-bender. I've just gotten so used to it I don't gig with my other Teles.
I'm putting together a Pine body Tele now and it should be super light. My B-bender Tele weighs
9 lbs. but I'm used to it.
