I wonder why I need all of the others. That doesn't seem to happen when I play the other models.

Am I weird?

Not really. I think with a Tele, DRRI and 12' of cable you can conquer the world.

The question about Telecasters and the question about whether or not you're weird are actually two completely separate discussions :o|

Re: the Tele--no, you do need more than one. It's perfectly normal to have several of the same model guitar.

I love Tele's. I'm original an acoustic player that went Strat for years as my first real electric. Then I built a Tele to practice making pickups for that design.

Man. Nothing beat's a Tele for me.

But you gotta have multiples. I need to build a few more.

I know I'm weird. I'm lefthanded. One leg is longer than the other. I have mild word dyslexia. I like peanut butter and cantaloupe. I like Styx. My name is Rocky.

How's that for starters?

Oh.

Perhaps you need to be in your own club then.

You need other models to truly appreciate a Telecaster. And you need a few Telecasters to appreciate the one or two that are really special.

That's all I got.

If I had to pick one guitar it'd be a Strat. That said my first real guitar was a blonde/maple early 70's Tele. In reality 2 Strats could satisfy me; vintagey and maple, rosewood with SSH. Teles on the other hand I could love a stable. Vintage, Thinline, S-H, H-S, H-H, P90s, Filtrons, Bigsby, etc. Currently I have 2, one with pure vintage appointments and a whacked out thinline that breaks all the rules. I love Teles.

IMO, a Nashville-style Tele can do everything a Strat can do and then some.

My Nashville is my favorite Fender-type guitar.

Oddly enough, I don’t own a Fender these days. But I have Teles and Strats.

Nashville is the only MIM to have a 1 11/16ths nut width... all the rest have the 1 5/8ths.

I think the Nashvilles are excellent guitars.

I play my 2014 MIM Baja Tele more than any of the others by far.

Not sure why i still own the others, except for my acoustic. I'll always play that.
