It cracks me up that you leaned on them for a case. I’d have busted out some twenties, grabbed the guitar, and backed out slow and quiet-like so as not to disrupt the continuum.

Well Doc, I've been doing this so long, and most stores expect the same thing from me.

I'm going to haggle no matter the price, and I'm going to ask for a case.

It might have drawn attention to the guitar if I'd changed my my modus operandi.

What a Killer Deal!

I can only hope that the pawn shop doesn't come calling you for a return because one of the FDP family members had that horrible episode here and this caused him to forfeit the guitar and money.

But if you don't experience this, then I will continue to sit here in envy and hope that someday I will be privy to the same awesome opportunity!
How great is this? Man, what a Sweetie!
Enjoy your new acquisition and play the heck out of it!

Thanks guys.

I really lucked out on this guitar.

It already has some light relicing because of the very thin nitro finish.

I just took it to my guitar tech to get it intonated and set the action to my specs.

I really like the see through Honey Blonde finish on this guitar.

I can't wait to get it back.

After you paid, you should have made everyone in the store lie on the floor and told them not to get up until you'd been gone for five minutes, then backed out the door, guitar in hand.

I had the same experience years ago when I picked up a 1966 Fender Jazzmaster with case for $165 at a pawn shop. It was priced at $175. They knew me and would have thought something was up if I didn't try to talk them down.

WOW Buster, what a score.

You have to haggle and ask of all the stuff you normally ask when you buy.

You just can't make them suspicious, because then they'll figure somethings up.

I've operated the same way for MANY years, and I'm not going to change now.

Yeah, when shopping the pawn shop you have to play their game. The same game they’ll play with you.

You must have been the first person to touch it when they hung it on the rack.
You got a heck of a deal. A like new Tele.

Yea BbenderFender.

They had just put it out on the floor when I snagged it.

It wouldn't have lasted 1 hr out on the floor with the traffic and all the musicians in town hitting the pawnshops.

I was at the right place at the right time on this one.

I have at least 2 friends, whom if they walked in a few seconds after me, would have gone straight to the manager and told him/her the real value of the Tele.
They are just that mean.
I'm glad you snagged it.
