LP’s are also easy to play, I don’t think I’ve ever picked one up that didn’t play much easier than a Strat. You fight a Strat, you just play a Les Paul. 😉

I haven’t found anything I don’t like about this duo.

It’s so different than the fenders I usually play.

Easy to dial in!

Bill, easy to play is the first thing I noticed. Of course the sound from the LP/Marshall is something I just discovered for myself.

The volume and tone pots on a Lester are so useful it's amazing all the tones you can coax from one.

I agree with Tygr1. Moving the tone knobs give a whole plethora of tones. I like rolling the tone knob all the way off on the bridge with crunch and the tone off with the neck pickup is classic lester tone territory.

First, congratulations on the LP and Marshall amp Ryder. I had a DSL for a while so I know how nice the combination sounds.

It was exactly the opposite for me. I grew up playing Fenders and I rolled through six or seven LPs over twenty years before I finally bonded with my current LP, a 2004 Historic R0. The breakthrough for me was improving enough as a player to really play an LP like it needed to be played. Now, I wish I hadn't sold that beautiful Gold Top Standard ten years ago. I still have many more Fenders than Gibsons in the man cave.

ReverendRob, thank you. It was another “old guy” twitch.

What’s up with this LP, it is almost playing itself?!

Thank you guys! I’m thanking Tygr1! Perfect match for me.

Ryder, as you’re finding out the Gibson’s have a different scale length than Fenders. You can generally set the action lower on Gibson’s than you can Fenders. Oddly enough I use the same string gauge on both with no problems.

Congratulations, Ryder! An LP through a Marshall is a glorious combination, indeed. It will definitely keep you off the streets, and out of trouble 😎

Whatever it is about these Gibsons (all of it) I sure like it.

The action on this one is set just right, thank you Richard.

How is the clean on that dsl20? I’ve been toying with the idea of grabbing one for a Marshall grab n go.
