Guthrie doesn't even call it CAGED, but this is perhaps the best visualization and application of the idea of repeating chord shapes up the neck I've seen to date.

Mapping Triads. You will learn something here :o)

Super usable concepts here. A practical way of visualizing these inversions and using them right away musically.

This is the real link to making something internal. You must use it musically.

I've forgotten many things I've learned because they never got put to use.

Cheers, man. Go on yootoob and look at Trapp doing his thing with a band. The guy is a lot like Danny Gatton; I saw him play in Nashville several years back and he blew my mind.

I may change my name to Guthrie, because obviously it makes a person a better guitar player (Guthrie Trapp, Guthrie Govan).

Here's a good example. He's playing a custom Tele that has MIM Fender pickups in it because he likes the way they sound. Further proof there's no need for $300 pickups when you can really play.

This tune sounds like he was listening to a lot of Eric Johnson at the time.

I had an old Squier Strat I fixed up for a friend for them to sell. It sounded pretty darn good.

Really nothing wrong with those pickups. They have their own tone and I think there are good and bad ones like any other pickups. Sometimes I like their sound...

Sometimes I like the frontman 25r too!

Just gotta play!

Anyone who has T-1000 as their bass player has GOT to be good.

Definitely a weird bass player vibe there.

That's Mike Rhodes. He plays with Joe Bonamassa now.
