I know speakers are subjective, we all have our likes and dislikes.

After seeing the Cranking Country combo that Eminence is selling, I have a few of those "Made for Fender" Eminence Legend 1258s lying around, so I took one and paired it with a Legend GB128.

Very interesting, very nice paring.

The Legend 1258 top end sparkle with the bottom heft of the GB128, gives a very classic almost vintage tonality. They totally complement each other. The GB128 cancels out any top end treble bite of the legend 1258. And the Legend 1258 tightens up the soft bottom end GB128.

I'm using them in a cab for a 69 Bassman Head. Think I like that pairing a lot. I play a lot of Country and Modern Country, Blues and Classic Rock.

Anyone else using this speaker combo?

I had a GB and a Texas Heat in a 2x12 cab, a few years back, and I would largely describe the combo as you did. I liked it a lot. It was a 4 Ohm cab, though, as they did away with the 16 Ohm GB years ago. Well, at the time I assumed that was the case. I couldn’t find a 16 Ohm GB at the time.

I’m also a fan of the GB because it has an undoped cone.

I use two Legend 1258 speakers in my 1991 Fender Ultimate Chorus amp and really like them. Great great speakers.
