Musician's Friend is selling their Silver Creek dreadnought cases for $69.95 through this weekend.

I have one of these already, just bought another for an Alvarez-Yairi I bought last week that came in a pretty beat-up case.

These are very good quality cases. They resemble the TKL case I've got for my Martin, black tolex with a green crushed velvet interior. Not quite the bank vault quality, but pretty darn close for 1/4 the price.

Free shipping too!

That IS a killer deal!

With free shipping, it's a no-brainer.

Free shipping on a case makes a HUGE difference - thanks for the heads-up.

Disregard! I handed out some bad information.

I bought one. The top was misaligned and one latch wouldn't latch right. They sent another, and it was too small, guitar would not fit. My sales guy was puzzled, thought it might be a classical guitar case, so he sent another. Also too small. So I ended with 3 cases, none were right. Had to send all three back (MF paid for shipping).

So I told my sales rep, who is a good guy, that I deserve a little something for my patience and effort. He told me to pick out another brand of case and he would give me a nice discount. So the Case of the Case continues.

But steer clear of the Silver Creek cases. Too bad, because the one I bought 3-4 years ago is a quality product.

Well, that sucks and goes to show that reviews (4.5 stars) don't always carry the decision making weight we'd hope they would.

wow. They must've gone to a different maker. Too bad. Silver Creek used to be good stuff.

I like the heavy Martin cases that look like the old Geib (sp) cases but I'd get mine from Sweetwater. MF/GC took a couple months of free advertising from us (while stalling) and then never paid their bill.

littleuch, I went back and read those good reviews and noticed that they are all a few years old.

I like the Martin cases too, CG, they are the best. Pretty pricey, though, more than I wanted to spend. But you get what you pay for, right?

Yeah I didn't read the reviews just saw the overall rating. Obviously something changed.

I've only ever had 2 Martins, both discontinued (JM and my current D17M). Both had excellent cases.

I agree that the Martin cases are great . I didnt care for the plastic cases that came with my old d35. One day as I was putting my guitar away the lid came down and the metal lip came down on my top. The Geib style cases are fantastic .

budg, my otherwise excellent '81 Guild has a big tooth mark on the top edge, upper bout treble side, from exact same sort of accident.

I don't care so much for the plastic Martin cases either. I like the classic wood cases.

On the other hand, I had a Stonebridge that came in a plastic case. But it was a Hiscox, and was outstanding!
