About 15 years ago I was really trying to write some music and this is something I created. I had zero lyrical ability and very limited anything ability.

I had just bought a digital recorder and had a midi keyboard sitting around and I put together a 3 chord progression and asked a friend of mine if he would lay down a lead track for it.

Ron did this pretty much in 1 or 2 takes, the drums and rhythm guitar are me (timing is way off) the lead is my friend Ron. I hope the link works ;)

Would someone please just listen to it as a courtesy?

Kinda hurt that there is nary a comment. It is a dark song but I really think the lead guitar is tasteful enough to get past the darkness of it.

Hey Bob!

I don’t always stick my head in this forum.

I like it! I like his melodic approach to most of his playing. He build a melody over the framework. The only part where he lost me a little was towards the middle when he “meedley-meedlied” a bit. It didn’t seem to fit quite right.

But I can armchair quarterback anything. (-;

I like it!

Sorry Froggy, I should be more responsive to threads here seeing that I crowd up the bandwidth with all my doodoo. I guess the thread title made me think it was gear related.

Anyway, listened and liked it. You sound like this may have been first or early effort and mentioned timing issues. Don't hear that and think it sounds fine. The drums are a bit mechanical sounding and up front, but 15 years ago, yeah...

The overall sound of the recording is pretty decent. The guitar gets a little wooley at times. Sounds like a skilled guitarist to me that at times did go into meedley-meedley but meedley-meedley'd better than I could, so...

Meedley is about right. Good word. I look back at this after forgotten for so long and wish it was more me but today I am working on it again just for the kicks.

Thanks for the kind words. I have another one that is just me I will put up once I get the levels right. Much slower licks tho :)
