I know you have used these and I'm wondering about wiring configuration. I have an HSH strat wired with a 5 way switch for traditional hum/split/middle/split/hum configuration. The neck rout seems to have plenty of room for a P90 depthwise, I'll have to take off the existing pickguard to measure width top to bottom. That could be tight and scrap the whole idea. But what I'm curious of is, can this pickup be split?? It seems to have the whole array of red/green/black/etc. wiring options. I just don't know if it can be made to play nice with the middle pickup.

I see I can order a P90/S/H pickguard from Warmoth, so...

Whachatink?

Yeah, you can split the thing. It will take some surgery though--to add the necessary leads.

You guys is funny.

Thanks Peegoo. Meh, if it requires anything more than sortin' and solderin' wires, I'll probably let this thought go.

You could contact Kent Armstrong and ask if they can supply you a four-wire unit. I'll bet they can do it for you.

The ones I've used in the past were all two-wire jobs.

Hmmm. I'm looking at mine. They have W/B/R/G and shield.

Mine had four leads as well.
My question is, because it's a "stacked" humbucker design, whether you'd gain anything tone-wise.

Dunno, just a thought and another opportunity to show just how little I know about these things.

:^)

Got this response back from WD Music, which must have been where the Kent Armstrong support redirects.

"You can split it but it loses power and it’s noiseless properties because it is a humbucker. Truly the 4 core wiring was provided for series parallel wiring, not coil tapping. Hope this helps."
