You'll have to let us know how the pickups sound...

I couldn't find the ohm value on your pots but mine are fairly hot, yet they seem to work well with the guitar.

I couldn’t find that or what sort of magnets are used. I’ll just see how they are. (-:

... and back it goes. It has dings in the face of the headstock. No damage to the inner or outer boxes at all. Looks like it came this way from the factory.

No mention of it in the description or photos.

The second time was the charm. This one is great.

Picture to follow.

This guitar fills a tonal-niche in the herd, for sure. I’m fine with the pickups. But, if I were to change them, it would be for real Filtertrons. I kinda doubt I will swap them.

Dude, I’m not getting any younger!
;-)

I’m going to bed anyway. Glad you like it...if indeed you actually got it. How would I know, haven’t seen one picture of this mythical guitar you speak of?

These Gretsches are equipped with the classic-style Gretsch strap buttons. These are a knurled knob that screws onto a hanger screw.

It is very common for these hanger screws to loosen in the wood; when you unscrew the knob to remove the strap, the hanger screw comes out with the knob.

Best way I've found to solve this issue is to put a few drops of Titebond into a toothpick and use the toothpick to work the glue into the hole. While the glue is still wet, screw the hanger screw into the wood using the strap button as a handle. Let the glue cure for 24 hours and you should have no issues with the screw working loose.
