Picked-up a new Rumble 500c V3 at GC's Presidents Day Sale. $499. They now have a 45 day return policy. A gig or two should tell the story, it's really nice to test stuff out in the real world.

That's a good deal, rythmpyg! It's what I paid for my Rumble 500 combo 4 years ago, before the two price increases.

Be sure to read the short manual, and play with the controls to fully understand them before gig time. Note that the Gain also effects the Vintage and Overdrive! The Level on the Drive is more of a volume control so that switching back and forth doesn't give any unwanted volume difference. I like a little bit of drive to warm up the tone now and then.

I also like the post-EQ, post-Master Volume XLR out. Next best thing to using a mic on a speaker, but without the mic!

It's a real workhorse by itself at 350 watts. But add an 8 ohm extension cab and it opens up the full 500 watts with even more fullness and dispersion. Can't go wrong!

Nice score. The Rumble stuff is nice. However, I don't have one myself BECAUSE of the post EQ/post volume XLR. Different strokes for different folks.

I've been sticking with my Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.2 and Ampeg PF-500 heads because of the pre-post DI switchability. I like the versatility. In my cover band, I put a Zoom B3n multipedal in front of the amp. It does all the tone shaping. I run the amp pretty flat. I run a pre-EQ feed to the PA. This way I can make corrections to my local EQ and volume on stage and it doesn't mess with the sound guy's settings.

Come on hands, keep up...

I picked up a 500c and it is quite impressive. The Post EQ XLR out can be fixed by buying a passive DI box.
