FDP Forum / Fender Guitars: Jaguars & Jazzmasters / Strings unraveling on Jaguar/Jazzmaster bridges

Anyone experience this? It's usually the high E .010. It starts going out of tune and as I tune it up, the wrap at the ball end starts slipping away. I use D'Addarios and it only happens on a Jag or JM

That is odd.

You can heat the wrap with a soldering stick and apply some electronic solder to the wrap and it will lock it all down.

That's what I've been using as fillers on guitars since Fender discontinued my stainless monsters I've used forever...

Put a set on my recently-reassembled/refin'd Squier Jazz, and zero issues as described.

The set on my CP Jaguar are the NYC XL whatever ones (got several packs when they were testing and haven't gone through them all yet), and no issues despite massive trem abuse.
