I stumbled across this video on YouTube a couple of days ago. Thought I'd pass it along. I found it very interesting. I'm now jonesing for a CV and wishing I'd never sold the Japanese Squier Tele I bought back in 1981.

The Squier classic vibe series is better than many MIM Strats and Teles I've played. Better than some MIAs too.

If you're not a logo snob, you can have an extremely good guitar for less money than you might think.

Yup. I don't need a new guitar... but I'm totally going to be checking out some Squiers this weekend.

I just broke out my '83 SQ Squier a couple of days ago after a long storage and forgot how nice it is. I would put it up against my American made strat anyday.

The early Japanese Squiers were quite decent monsters, but they're now priced well past what they're *in general* worth.

I cashed out a while back and don't regret it.

The sleepers for me are still the '98 gold label MIMs when they started up production after the plant fire and the new/current one was built - they didn't have their own CNC machines so all the wood etc was the same as MIA whatever, just more pieces and painted/finished there.

There are some significantly good ones from any country of manufacture though - I'm happy with my Indonesians as well.
