Yesterday I got me a 1980 Gibson Sonex for 20 $ (in words twenty Dollars!) at a yard sale.
Today I fixed it and played it!
Gorgeous!

The Sonex line bombed because the bodies were made with a composite wood material. Despite that, they set up and play and sound great when dialed in.

It's exactly this resowood which makes them sound great. You get a hell of a guitar with small bucks!
Beside these I own a 2014 LP Supreme which cost me an arm and leg, but it'S quite inferiro in sound against my Sonexs!
If you find a Sonex, don't hesitate! There can be no better low budget LPs anywhere!

This will probably be the last one I post in here for a while because I’m tapped out - but I picked this up for comparatively short money and it’s going to be something of an ongoing project for me. Rare bird, was a middle ground between the L7 and L5. Sort of an L7 with gold hardware. Someone stuck an old Dearmond 1000 Rhythm Chief pickup on it - the clamp on type - but then actually cut holes to mount the knobs into the top (they took the pots and switch out of the little clamp-on can they normally came in).

I bring to you archtoppy goodness.

You're gonna overdose on Gretsch if you're...lucky!

Here's my GotD: the Fender GT--a model you'll never find in a Fender catalog or in a guitar shop.

A fun little guitar.

I don't recall seeing any Hamer guitars here, so I figured

I better represent. It's got aaaa-baloney and other pimptastic bling.

Well, this one's kinda been my GOTWeek.

I posted the finished pic in project & repairs last week, but I reckon it deserves a GOTD post too.

I'm still "breaking it in" :^)

Still very happy with everything, and it's stabilised well. Haven't done any tweaks since the initial set up.

It's pretty spanky!

We're twins. :o)

Here was my rig this morning at church. I'm really starting to bond with this guitar and it's tonal versatility.
