It's been so long since I restrung my Taylor 355, I can't remember what brand or gauge I've got on there.

For information I tune it a whole step down and I like a light feel in general.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

I believe Taylor recommends the Elixer 0.010 gauge set for all of their 12 string models. You might be able to go heavier when tuned down a step.

Yep. Elixers.

I've become an unwilling participant in the Coated Strings Revolution. They shred up a bit as the coating wears, but they do seem to stay clean and bright for a longer time than trad phosphor bronze strings.

If I owned an acoustic 12, that's what I'd use on it.

I have Elixer strings on every acoustic I own except my nylon. Both 12s, a Breedlove and a Takamine have the above mentioned "light" set.

I see it in two ways because they last a long time. Not all of my acoustic guitars get a lot of play. The Elixer string are still sounding fresh even if I haven't touched the guitar in 6 months or more.

The guitars I play often need fewer string changes. Elixers last a long time.

Ok, so I've cleaned the strings with some "string cleaner". I think that'll do for another year ;-)

Just to drag this thread off topic (oh no!), is anyone else surprised that Taylor hasn't started making their own strings yet?

This thread made me think about that, and I'm actually kinda surprised they haven't done it (or had someone else make them strings with their name on them).
