I picked up a used SS22 and love the sound with the speaker that was in it. I am not even sure if it's the factory speaker or not, but it's one of the Fender "Brown Label" Special Designed that was made by Eminence Speaker Company.
Like most, I decided to experiment. I put in a Weber Pre-rola Classic British Vintage. I didn't like it at all .... This speaker is in my 5E3 and it sounds excellent in that amp.
What speakers have others tried in their SS22 and why did you keep it or replace it.
Thanks,
Ed

My son and I tried and kept an Eminence Cannabis Rex in his SS22. We also removed the bright cap. All is well.

I've swapped in/out a CRex and a celestion G12H heritage green back 55hz a few times. They both work well in that amp. If u only play clean tones thru the clean channel, the CRex is great.
But if you use any overdriven tones, I like the G12H. I'm leaving the G12H in mine.
I also just clipped the bright cap in my SS22 and it makes a huge difference if u use dirt pedals thru the clean channel.
