Discuss.
A 'modern' take on the Strat (for their time.) Roller nut, pop in trem, stock lace sensors, locking Sperzel or Schaller tuners. They seem to command pretty high prices on the used market... Anyone swear by them? Consider them highly collectible?

An informative page about them

Archie, I'm a big fan of the Strat Plus and the Strat Plus Deluxe/Deluxe Ultra.

The Lace Sensor Gold PUs originally used in the guitars were excellent IMO. I was not real fond of the blue, silver, red PU package.

The Deluxe version with the Fender/Floyd Rose bridge is my favorite. I owned a Plus Deluxe Ultra in vintage white. A guy in Russia wanted it bad so I sold it for crazy money 10-12 years ago. I still miss the guitar however.

I've seen the value of these guitars rise consistently. They are certainly worth more than Am Standards of the same period. I really should grab another before they become too pricey. Collectable yes IMO.

Hammond101 - There's a Dlx beauty for sale w/in driving distance. Tempting but not cheap (thought I'm sure I could talk him down a bit) & I really don't need another Strat!

Arch, that guitar is identical to the one I sold to the Russian. I think the price is quite fair @ $800 although they'd most likely come down a bit as you say.

Those bridges go for $300 by them selves these days. They are that good. I have one on an Am DLx and a spare just in case.

I have 3 '90 Fender Strat Plus guitars.

I had 4,but sold it because I couldn't get along the that mini Floyd bridge it had that's like the one in that CL ad.

I have 2 that have the original Gold Lace sensors , and one that has the Blue,Silver,Red Sensors.

I like all of them , and I think they're amazing versatile guitars.

2 of mine, I bought for $800 each, and the other was a pawnshop score that i picked up for $325.

Here's some pics of my Strat Plus guitars.
