I have a 4 screwed American Tele bridge, with six saddles. It looks like I can put the old brass saddles on the 3 barrel looking saddles, can I do this.

You can, but you'll probably have to drill three holes in the rear flange of the bridge plate for the three saddles' intonation screws.

Six-saddle Tele bridge plates have six holes and none of them will line up for the three-saddle conversion.

In the pic linked below, this is a Gotoh chrome-plated brass bridge plate. It originally had six holes in the rear flange for the six saddle screws, along with six additional holes to allow top-loading of the strings. On this Tele, I have the strings through the body.

When drilling for a three-saddle conversion, the new hole needs to be dead center between each pair of string holes, i.e., E/A, D/G, and B/E).

Look here.
