Layout shows the first .1 cap of channel 1 being shunted to ground via the deep switch.
Makes no sense to me.
Thanks folks

The intent of the deep switch is to remove the lowest frequencies (it is counterintuitive as all git-out). It's supposed to prevent the speaker from farting out when you have the volume up near 9 or 10.

Many players mod the deep switch to do something else, because what it does in stock configuration in most Bassman amps is quite subtle.

Yeah, about as impactful as swapping your guitar lead around the other way :0)

Amp guru Ken Fischer (RIP) of Trainwreck fame swore he could hear "directionality" in a conductor...even in a guitar lead. He said there was a difference. I dunno about that--especially with an AC signal like what's in a guitar lead. But he sure made some fine amps!

Thanks for your advice folks.

Roly engages the "deep" switch and scratches his head because there is less bottom when the deep switch is on.

Perhaps it should be called the undeep switch.
cheers

Dang! You strangle jaguars? And I thought lassoing an armadillo was a studly activity.

Respect! :0)

Do you garrote them around the hood ornament?

Was that a fingerling potato, or a massive baking potato?
