I like this tele a lot. It's semi hollow so it's light weight for one thing.

I would like to know what a different set of pups might do for this tele.

The VN's are nice but sometimes not tele twangy enough. Sometimes not growly enough. Always creamy sounding. Ok, but I like the other sounds better.

I don't care if they are noiseless or not...whatever will make this guitar sound more like a tele should. I like everything about it except the pups. And I don't hate them.

Ryder, the Baja has a modern broadcaster pickup in the bridge (Modern because it has a plastic bobbin IIRC) Might brighten that thinline up (feedback too, maybe)

Since you now have a baja..... hmm?

Actually, I still want to switch out the pups in the thinline.

The more I play the Baja, the less I like the vintage noiseless..

What pups for a semi-hollow Tele?

I’m wanting Tele tone, bite and or growl.

This is just me thinking out loud here--I have a Tele with Gretsch Filtertrons, and they go from bright and twangy to real rock and roll growl.

The trick to getting Tele twang with Filters is to add a treble bypass cap on the volume control: roll back from 10 to about 8 and it gets pretty spanky.

If you think Filters don't rock, check out Malcolm Young (RIP) with AC/DC and Poison Ivy with The Cramps.

Rock!

I would offer that the StewMac Golden Age Tele set would get you there. I think they’re on sale right now too.

If'n you like white rope Tele tones, these are a steal at the price.
