I picked a bad time to download this fully functional 20 day demo. I'm heading to Texas for 10 days or so this weekend but have had the chance to try it out on a few remixes. Honestly, I can't tell if I could produce the same results with my existing EQ and Compression plugin's, I'll have to listen deeper and on more devices. At times I wonder if these plugs are just sexy repackaging of the same old same old. I first became aware of this suite when it was on sale recently for $99, a much more palatable price tag than the current $199.

Anyone else try this one out?

I have this set of plugins for my Console 1. I like it quite a bit. It's very tubey older kind of stuff here. Very very broad EQ curves, mostly slow dynamics. If you are into that kind of thing, I say give it a shot. I picked it up for the 99 myself.

And if you want any demos from me just let me know.

I think these plugins are certainly different from the usual stock ones once you factor in the slightly unique and adjustable saturation curves.

You sir, are a plugin-whore, lol. And I'm jealous. I'll probably keep an eye out for another sale, then nab it. While I worked some stock instrument and buss settings, I mostly concentrated on using it as one of my mastering busses along with "Tape".

"You sir, are a plugin-whore, lol."

Oh Larry, if you only knew. If you only knew. I have so, so many. And though I do use a majority of them, I do have my staples.

Tape is a pretty darn good emu. I love the "C" setting, which is a Studer/EMI j37 I think... great stuff. The "B" is an Ampex 102 I think, and "A" a Studer. I have other Studer plugs I usually prefer, and a nice UAD Ampex, but Softube does really nice stuff.

The Console one is great for the old console type workflow.

There are great sales going on right now for sure. I'm sure it'll come back around. You are smart to work efficiently with what you have, though.
