FDP Forum / Fender Amps: Vintage (before 1985) / Recommend A Voltage Regulator

May 28th, 2018 08:32 AM   Edit   Profile

I have several vintage amps and I would prefer to run them at 110 volts than 120 volts.
Do y'all have any recommendations ?

I checked into the BrownBox, Amp Preserver and Amp Maniac as well as a few other solutions.

I chose the Amp Maniac because I only have amp on at a time and my amps all have different requirements.

I'm very happy with it.

What about a standard variac (voltage regulator)

You can pick one up on the internet for around $65.

I use one for all my amps, I set it at 117volts (my vintage amps seem to like that voltage)

I use a good old made in USA Variac and a Thurman Power Factor Pro.

About as ordinary as you can get.

I'll chime in for using a standard Variac.

Yes, my Variac has a rock-solid perspective on its current reality.
