I recently came across these via videos and testimonials (not in person) and like what I hear; has anyone used these on a strat and can share their experience?

Bardens tend to be very bright-sounding.
Many players consider them too shrill, but that’s because many players leave their guitar’s tone controls on 10.
If you’re a player that does rely on the tone control, you’ll probably like them.

Legend has it that the Barden's were born out of Danny Gatton's own designs that he showed to Joe. They are humbucking which is great. They are also fairly "hi-fi" sounding pickups, perhaps bright. They do their own thing, which is great. Variety is the spice of life.

yes....you have a tone control and with Barden's its a must.
I fiddled with mine for awhile and found they sounded best when they were further away from the strings rather than closer....

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a set of new JBE pickups.
I currently use the stock Vintage Noiseless that came in my '98 American Deluxe Strat.. which sound good to me, just not "wow" good.
Most of the magic is in the playing but there is something to be said for the platform that exceptional instrument/ amp/ pickups can lend; I am aiming for that and will see where this all leads. Worst case scenarios, JBE's have an excellent resale value...
I'll post about them once I have swapped and tried them. Thanks to all who shared their experiences.

I haven’t seen a Barden thread in forever. I’m looking forward to your updates. (-:
